I don’t know that the burden is on the PT to find time around your work schedule – but it is on YOU, to schedule your PT around that time. WC won’t pay for the time you take off during the day for the therapy.

I live, work and am a PT in IL. I’ve also been a patient myself. Although I don’t know the specifics of the law, I do know that PT is under NO obligation to make their schedule accommodate your work. Rather, I believe, that WC in IL cannot bar you from leaving work to attend PT. We have patients who are on WC come during their normal work schedule all the time.
Yes, I understand what you are saying now…that certainly makes it difficult. If you do not know your schedule ahead of time, then just schedule your PT…some may fall during your regular work hours…which is up to your employer to accomodate you, but some may fall during your off time, which should mean you do not have to miss work.

After being injured on the job in Illinois does my physical therapy have to be scheduled around work?
I was hurt at work… LONG STORY!!! My HR rep claims that my physical therapist must make time around my work schedule and that is state law. I have googled this, and quite frankly can’t find anything about it.
I think I worded this wrong… but basically I gave my employer my PT schedule in ADVANCE for the next two weeks and they told me that it wouldn’t work because therapy has to work around them. They give me the schedule one week at a time on friday for Sunday through Saturday. Which means PT would basically have 1 day to schedule me 3 times a week.
